When people come to MOSS, they are often facing more than one challenge at once, unsafe housing, family violence, poor mental health, food insecurity, trauma or isolation.
We work alongside children, young people, families, older people and individuals to provide practical help now, and support for the longer path forward.
When Melanie came to MOSS, she was overwhelmed by grief, anxiety and years of unmet support needs. Her home had been condemned, and she was at risk of losing stability altogether.
Our team showed up consistently, helped her reconnect with health care and practical support, and walked alongside her as life became more manageable again. Today, she is reconnecting with family and beginning to feel part of the community again.
Daniel had been sleeping rough for months when our team met him in a park. He needed more than a bed for the night, he needed someone to listen, practical help to get back on track, and support to believe a different future was possible.
MOSS helped Daniel recover his ID, secure housing and reconnect with a pathway forward. Today, he is studying community services and wants to use his experience to help others doing it tough.
Last year, MOSS provided practical support across Victoria, including crisis beds, meals, food relief, housing pathways and tailored support for children, families and older people.
Because dignity isn’t a luxury. It’s a right.
