Everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

MOSS began in 1988, not with big budgets, but with a simple idea: no one should be left behind. What started as a local response to homelessness has become a vital support system for thousands of Victorians doing it tough.

We don’t do band-aid fixes. We work on what really matters—helping people break the cycle of homelessness and build something better.

With your support, we’ve helped families escape violence, older people stay housed, young people find safety, and those who’ve lost everything start again. Every donation goes straight into programs that change lives—housing, food, mental health, community connection.

We walk alongside people for as long as it takes. Because dignity isn’t a luxury. It’s a right.

MOSS is a registered charity. Donations over $2 are tax deductible—but more importantly, they’re life changing.

Melanie’s Turnaround

When we met Melanie, her house had just been condemned. The floors were buried, the smell unbearable. People called her a hoarder. But she wasn’t. She was grieving. Years of loss and untreated anxiety had left her frozen in place. No one had asked what she needed. We did.

We showed up every week, helped her clean, get clothes, see a doctor—for the first time in 8 years. She’s talking about joining a group now. Her daughter visits again. She’s not “the woman in the mess” anymore. She’s Melanie. And she matters.

From Street to Stability

Daniel hadn’t slept indoors for months. He’d lost count.

He told us he felt invisible—like he didn’t exist anymore. We met him in a park, sat down, listened. Found him housing. Helped him get his ID back.

We supported him into a course in community services. He wants to help others now—people like him, who just needed someone to give a damn. Daniel’s story isn’t rare. But his future? That’s what we’re fighting for.
